Free Workshops Saturday April 14th in the Lexington Room

• 1:30pm“New Roland V Accordion Digital Orchestra”  with Sam Falcetti & Chris Gorton. A great workshop for accordion, keyboard & piano. What’s happened to the accordion in the last seven years??? Ask Bon Jovi, Madonna, Drop Kick Murphy and Paul McCartney…these are just a few of the artists using a Roland Digital Orchestra in their bands. This workshop is for accordionists, pianists, keyboardists and their friends.
• 3:00pm“Practicing Made Fun”  with Sam Falcetti & Jay Latulippe. A great workshop for contestants and their parents. The workshop is for everyone participating in the festival and their parents….THAT’S YOU! Learn some great new strategies and incentives to help with practicing and preparing for your next lesson. Practicing an instrument for most may not be fun after a while, but playing an instrument is! Participants will come away with a renewed commitment and new incentives for practicing. Hand-outs summarizing the strategies will be supplied

The Air Force Strolling Strings will be performing at the Awards Dinner and in the Grand Ballroom on Sunday April 15 from 12:30-1:00

Charter Members to be honored at 50th Anniversary

Michael Falcetti, President of the ATAM, and the current members are proud to honor eight charter members at this years’ 50th New England Music Festival. The Gala Awards Ceremony will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at the Boston Newton Marriott. Performing in concert, at this prestigious affair, will be the Air Force Strolling Strings.

Those being honored are Ida DeRossi from Fairhaven, Ma., Sam & Peggy Falcetti from Wilbraham, Ma., Tulio Gasparini from Lincoln, R.I., Frank Gaviani,Jr.from Braintree, Ma., Rosita Lee Latulippe from Hudson, N.H., Leonard Ludovico from Warwick, R.I., and Paul Monte from Wellesley Hills, Ma.

The New England Music Festival’s three day event, April 13, 14, 15, 2012 , marks not only the 50th Anniversary of the ATAM, but the 35th year at the Boston Newton Marriott.

This year the association will award three $500.00 scholarships for those students selected who are seniors and will be majoring in music in college. There has been over 400,000 entries in the past 50 years and close to $300,000.00 in cash awards, scholarships and trophies awarded. Workshops will take place on Saturday afternoon in the Lexington room and reunion bands from several members will perform in the Ballroom on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
